Why we use the wilderness as a leadership classroom?
We believe the wilderness is an excellent training ground for leadership development. We view the wilderness as our classroom to use as a challenge focused environment to teach through. The ruggedness of the country combined with being isolated in an unfamiliar environment allows students to see leadership roles more clearly while being able to focus completely on the task at hand. The constant reminder of dependence on God renders their hearts and minds open to learning and growth. Being without creature comforts causes students to examine their attachment to material things. The layout of the land continually allows for a challenging environment of physical struggle and emotional growth. All of these benefits provide a disciplined training ground giving us the opportunity to develop leaders.
