Partnering with LeaderTreks When you work with LeaderTreks for missions, wilderness, and adventure trips you get more than trips you get a partner in ministry. At LeaderTreks, full service means that each LeaderTreks trip is customized to meet the needs of your team. Our materials and programs are student-tested and approved and each activity that your team will be doing has a proven track record of effectiveness. Our staff is working every day to make sure your team has a life changing experience. Pre-Trip Materials and TrainingPre-trip materials and training are the first aspect of full service that you will experience with LeaderTreks. Every trip includes a leaders manual providing you with six pre-planned team meeting ideas, team building exercises and information on all you need to know for your trip. You will also have a full time staff member dedicated to your trip who will walk you through the process of developing and training your team. On a Level 2 trip, you will receive additional materials including instructions on VBS preparation and team roles. On a Level 3-5 trips, your LeaderTreks staff will come to your site for a weekend to assist you in providing training for your student leaders and staff as well as your team as a whole. Trip BookThe LeaderTreks trip book is the next aspect of full service customization that we offer. We know that students can be trained as leaders, but without a discipleship foundation they are missing a key element of who God calls them to be. Because of this desire, we made a deliberate attempt to create a tool designed to help team members grow long-term. Each of our trip books has a theme built around the ministry project and the Bible study. The book is designed to help students develop habits that will lead to long-term spiritual growth. By providing a daily Bible study, we are hoping that students will develop a desire to make devotions a daily habit. The trip book is set-up with three main sections: Bible StudyEach Bible study is created around a book or a person found in Scripture. Each day we use a different Bible study method to teach the passage. Our goal is to teach scripture and to teach study methods that students can use when they get home. We don't just tell students to have a quiet time; we equip them with the skills they need to make it happen. Prayer JournalEach trip book has a daily prayer journal designed to challenge students to pray through the ACTS method. By teaching students a process to prayer we are able to educate them on the power of prayer. Often, students tell us that they don't know how to pray and that they are not sure if God is answering their prayers. A mission trip is a great place to start a prayer life or enhance one.Missiontrips require a great deal of prayer and students are often able to see God answering their prayers. The goal of the prayer journal is to get students to understand that prayer is not about changing God's mind, but changing their actions. Growth JournalEffective leaders know that you must grow, however, growth requires a measurement tool. The growth journal is that measuring tool. Tough self-examination questions about topics such as overcoming obstacles, character, values and vision help students identify who they are and where they are headed.
