This training event is built around four (4) of the LeaderTreks Leadership Principles and is designed to help teams put leadership into action.
Who is this training event for?
Leadership teams, student government teams, college leadership teams and teams that want to move from positional leadership to real leadership.
This training will focus on four (4) LeaderTreks leadership principles:
- Focus precedes success
- Never underestimate a champion
- Communication that counts
- Strategic planning
LeaderTreks believes that leadership can be learned and is based on a set of principles that can be applied to any situation. Students can best learn these principles in a “hands-on” experiential method. This training event is designed to allow students to experience the power of each leadership principle while playing a simulation game or overcoming an obstacle. For example, in order to learn strategic planning, students build a raft out of a roll of duct tape, string and five barrels and float across a lake. The learning is stimulating and powerful.
What will be the results?
Students will:
- Learn leadership skills
- Understand the difference between positional leadership and real leadership
- Understand their team role (Task, Social, Destructive)
- Develop action steps for leadership roles
- Develop a process for decision making
