TITLE: Director of Leadership Training
PERSONAL SUMMARY: I’ve lived in West Chicago my entire life where I attended Wheaton Christian Grammar School, as well as Wheaton Academy. High school marked the beginning of my involvement in LeaderTreks and my passion for youth as I began going on trips and working in a youth group. After high school, downtown Chicago became my home for four years as I attended Moody Bible Institute as a communications major. College in the city offered me many opportunities to learn and serve. At Moody I’ve been able to work with inner-city youth, lead worship for different events, and spend my time in training for ministry. I’ve continued to be involved with LeaderTreks throughout college, and have spent all my summers on trips. My passion for developing students has continued to grow and God has allowed me to keep pursuing that in my life.
1) HOW DID YOU BECOME A CHRISTIAN? I grew up in the Christian school system, and I always knew what the truth was. In third grade, I solidified it in my life and began my journey as a Christian. Since that time, God has faithfully grown me and stretched me in my relationship with Him. He has set His passion in my heart and has carefully guided me through both challenges and victories.
2) WHY LEADERTREKS? LeaderTreks is the place to be if you’re all about developing leaders. I have been involved with LeaderTreks since I was in high school, and it has been one of the most influential aspects of my life. I know that what LeaderTreks does, works. I’ve experienced it, and now I’m able to pass that experience on to others.
3) WHAT AUTHORS DO YOU READ? John Maxwell, Andy Stanley, Jim Collins
4) WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR GREATEST LEADERSHIP LESSON? I have learned the power of challenge and evaluation. When these two qualities are working together, people are stretched, built, sharpened and changed…ultimately, leaders are made.
5) WHAT IS YOUR PASSION? My passion is for students. There is so much to be found in students, and so much potential to come out. They are our next leaders. My heart stirs when they really begin to live life with a mission, and really begin to believe in something bigger than themselves.
6) WHAT PERSON HAS INFLUENCED YOU THE MOST? Doug Franklin, Tim Mauriello
